Theme & Culture CAMps

Theme and Culture Camps at the Revival are centered on the principle of sharing and inclusivity. These camps, whether offering refreshments, snacks, or sanctuary do so free of charge as a gesture of goodwill and community spirit. They provide inviting spaces, separate from their private camping areas, where fellow campers are welcomed to engage in various activities. Despite the relatively small size of individual groups managing these camps, their contributions significantly enhance the overall festival experience. These camps represent the enthusiastic participation of individuals dedicated to enriching the communal atmosphere.

  • Theme and Culture Camps, often referred to as Theme Camps, blend creativity, education, and community engagement. Theme Camps are formed by individuals or groups, offering diverse experiences from interactive art to communal activities, emphasizing creativity and participant interaction. Culture Camps, typically run by non-profits and organizations, focus on educating and sharing specific cultural or social values through workshops and activities. Many camps present a hybrid approach, merging the imaginative expression of Theme Camps with the educational and cultural focus of Culture Camps, creating spaces that are both engaging and informative.

Camps plan a minimum of 1 workshop or event for the weekend. Many camps enjoy hosting 1 event or workshop per day, but this is not a requirement. Additional events does not allow for additional entry tickets.

  • Camps offer their public spaces to the Revival organizers for scheduling workshops and events as needed. This collaborative approach ensures a dynamic and inclusive environment, where camp spaces become integral parts of the communal and interactive fabric of the Revival.

  • The general guideline is that a Theme Camp is typically formed by a group of two or more people. However, we recognize the unique contributions that individuals can bring to the gathering. In the past, we have had successful single-person camps, such as 'Meadful Things,' which have added their unique charm and experiences to the event. So, while the usual quantification is a small group, we are open to and encourage individual participants who are passionate about creating their own Theme Camp experience.

  • Currently, we offer limited free entry to Theme Camp members, primarily to those involved in both setup and teardown of their camp, due to financial limitations. As our event is community-run, ticket sales are crucial for covering significant organizational costs. Your ticket purchase helps fund future grants for art, camps, and workshops. We aim to increase support for Theme Camp participants as our community grows and becomes more financially sustainable.

  • Camps are responsible for understanding Revivals deescalation protocols for safety, adhering to 'Leave No Trace' principles for environmental care, and educating members about the Code of Consent and Conduct. Direct communication with Revival organizers will provide camps with essential information and guidance on managing public spaces responsibly and with healthy boundaries.

  • Camps must submit their events through the “workshop and events” application page. They are given priority in scheduling slots. But if you do not submit your event, you risk having schedulign conflicts during the event.
