How We Work

The Revival Steering Committee is the driving force behind our year-round initiatives and the success of the event itself. Our committee is organized into various teams, each led by two Directors: an Active Director and a Relief Director. This unique structure promotes sustainability, minimizes burnout, and ensures that our Directors can fully enjoy the event each year.

  • Active Directors: These dedicated individuals typically handle 80% of the department's workload. They are responsible for maintaining timelines, tracking projects, and providing vital support to team members, ensuring that department goals are achieved efficiently.

  • Relief Directors: The monthly commitment for Relief Directors is 2-4 hours a month. They step in as needed to assist with projects and, crucially, take over when the Active Director is unavailable or requires relief. This tag-team approach allows our Directors to balance their time between work and play!

  • Team Members: Our Team Members play a crucial role in the success of their respective departments. They have the flexibility to work on specific projects alongside their Directors or collaborate with fellow Team Members to achieve shared goals. With a commitment of approximately 2 hours a month, they bring their creativity and dedication to the table.

The volunteer commitment for Active Directors ranges from 2 to 8 hours per month, and Relief Directors 1-4 Hours depending on the department's complexity and its current systems. For instance, the newly established Medical and Safety Department may require more time, whereas the well-established Watchmen Department primarily focuses on recruitment with minimal changes needed.

Each team holds monthly meetings to discuss progress, ideas, and plans. Additionally, the entire Steering Committee gathers quarterly for a fireside meeting, where all members are encouraged to bring a plus one. These meetings serve as opportunities for enjoyment and community building. Even when there's no specific work to be done, we encourage the monthly meetings to continue in the form of social engagements, strengthening our bonds and fostering camaraderie.
